Building a shared platform for the Maldives' maritime sectors

MAYA's mandate centres on representation, professional standards, collaboration and responsible growth across yachting and cruise.

This is an explainer of how MAYA's mandate is structured. Four areas guide the association's work, and each applies equally to yachting and cruise.

Representation

Members work with vessels, crews, ports and visitors every day. Representation means carrying that practical experience into industry discussion in an organised, consistent way.

Professional standards

Standards are treated as day-to-day practice: clear information, reliable coordination and consistent conduct in dealings with vessels, authorities and visitors.

Collaboration

Yachting and cruise share harbours, anchorages and shore support. Collaboration means keeping the people responsible for those interfaces in contact with one another.

Responsible growth

Growth is only useful if the environment and infrastructure can carry it. The association's position is that capacity, environmental care and visitor experience are considered together, not separately.

Membership of MAYA does not imply accreditation, certification or endorsement of any member's services.
